Simoultaneous administration of Transmune® Gumboro and killed Newcastle vaccines in hatchery and its effect on antibody titer against Newcastle vaccine in broiler chickens

Abstract
In recent years, the co-administration of two or more vaccines in hatchery has been applied for increasing immunity to avian pathogens. This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of hatchery administration of immune-complex infectious bursal disease vaccine (Transmune IBD Vaccine, Ceva) on the immune response of broiler chickens induced by Newcastle disease (ND) vaccine. For this, 150 broiler chicks were divided into three equal groups. The chicks of group 1, received a spray of live H120 + B1 (Vitabron Ceva) and a subcutaneous injection of inactivated ND vaccines in hatchery. The chickens of group 2 were vaccinated against ND in the same manner as those in group 1, but immunized against IBD with Transmiun IBD vaccine in hatchery. The chicks of group 3 were vaccinated against ND and IBD vaccines only in hatchery in the same manner as those in group 2. All chickens from each group were beld on days 1, 14, 28 and 42 and the collected sera were assayed for ND-specific haemagglutination-inhibiting (HI) antibody.
